Sibling Status Means Something

Just because you or I don’t think something is important, doesn’t mean it isn’t. Just because the same scenario wouldn’t affect you or me in an adverse manner, doesn’t mean that it isn’t trying for our sister in Christ. As a Christian, we are called to bear the burdens of our siblings (Galatians 6:2), whether these be the burdens of mortifying sin and temptation, or other heavy spiritual and emotional encumbrances.

Whose Church?

Jesus Christ is the Head of the Church. Every believer is a member of the Body of Christ. The local assembly where we gather to worship is a small flock among many that, when combined, compose the whole of Christ’s Church. Yet, while many agree with this in word, this principle is functionally denied by the near-worship and über-admiration of their pastor, to the point that they identify themselves, not as members of Christ’s body, but as members of a specific man’s “church.”
